BRAMS RESPUBLIKA

European cuisine restaurant

Scroll down

Type

modern restaurant

Location

Kyiv,
Ukraine

Area

141 sq.m

Year

2019

Going to breakfast or dinner at 73a Lomonosova Street in Kyiv, you want to put on a suit and take your most beautiful dress out of the closet (of course, you are visiting Brahms!).

The European restaurant appeared on the food map of Kyiv in December 2016.

Our studio developed the design concept from corporate identity to the specifics of the space. So we know what it’s like to be a restaurant named after a famous composer.

Plan

.

Japanese style in the interior

The Japanese Echo style is reflected in the exposed wooden ceiling beams. The massive structure added a wabi-sabi mood to the interior. "It looks like they've been here for a long time," one of the visitors complimented. Over time, the beauty of the wood will fascinate more and more. This is the element of the interior that the passage of time adapts to.

The microcosm of the restaurant

There are two main areas. You can choose a table on the ground floor or in a secluded corner on the lower level. The ground floor is open and filled with light. The owners shared our passion for laconic Japanese interiors, and we materialised it in natural motifs, calm colours and functional space planning.

Ceramic lamps ZEMPLYA belong to a unique collection designed by MAKHNO Product. To find two similar ones among them would be a waste of time. Each handmade piece has a special pattern. Japanese laconicism continues on the lower floor. This is a space with a cooler colour temperature, where neutral concrete is combined with bamboo walls and black light. We are not fans of the British anthology series, but we have a black mirror. It hides a play area for children.

The owners shared our passion for laconic Japanese interiors, and we materialised it in natural motifs, calm colours and functional space planning. Solid oak tables became the real heavyweights. To them, we picked up squat sofas with pleasant linen upholstery in the colour of dark chocolate. Our main goal was to achieve an authentic feel, a traditional feature of Japanese interiors. All the elements had to take root and form a coherent microcosm. Rich in detail, the interior retains its outward purity and lightness.
