Every year the Salone del Mobile exhibition shows in what direction design will move in the nearest future. The best brands receive the eponymous award Salone del Mobile. Milano. This year in Milan’s top 3 – CC-Tapis, Magis and Sanwa. To tell you how they surprised us, we prepared a series of blogs which are called “By the footsteps of iSaloni». Read the third episode above.
Sanwa
The Japanese have once again proved that size is not the main thing, creating kitchens for «small» interiors. Their booth at Eurocucina 2018 is a clean minimalistic space where products speak for themselves. Exquisite, concise, and comfortable.
Model AC 01 – kitchen transformer, which can turn into a table. EO 01 – perfectly zone space in apartments with open planning. Walls allow you to visually divide the interior, while the stove and sink remain hidden.
Another interesting accent from Sanwa is how an object can be independent of space. Together with Bestetti Associati, the brand has produced a modular kitchen on wheels BA 01. It is easy to relocate and move it. 2 in 1: can be used both in the interior and for open spaces like a summer terrace or porch. The main material of BA 01 was Paperstone composite from recycled paper. Because design is not the priority, you need to respect the environment where you live.
CC-tapis
To develop their carpets, the Italian brand chose star designers – Patricia Urquiola, Bethan Laura Wood, Roberto and Louis Palomba, and Elena Salmistraro. Designers work in different styles, so the patterns turned out to be various and for every taste. Someone drew upon the nature and repeated silhouettes of stones on the carpets (the collection of Super Fake). Someone was thinking about the topic of digital technologies and transferred to the subjects a few psychedelic images. They were reminded of errors in the system on the computer (the Slinkie collection).

In general, CC-tapis introduced 9 new collections, connecting products and a presentation. The jury of the prize, visitors and all of us agreed that there are “carpets that must be looked and felt, and the stand that needs to be experienced as an interesting experience”. Even better, they must be taken to home.
Magis
They were experimenting to the point that they moved industrial furniture to the house. Rough steel lockers and chests of drawers, which previously were used only in factories, Magis company offered to move to our kitchens or even to living rooms.
This idea was developed together with designer Konstantin Grchik. The collection was named Chess and manufactured together with Fami – an Italian brand, one of the world leaders in the field of metalworking. Also, Magis presented its first own collection of lighting devices in partnership with the Iittala company.
