ROSE HOUSE

The house that blooms

Scroll down

Type

Private residence

Location

Kyiv region,
Ukraine

Area

160 sq.m

Year

2017

Rose is a guesthouse made of concrete, weathering steel, glass and water.

Because of a clean mod silhouette, the 160-square-meter building seems to be simple, but it contains a plethora of sophisticated elements.

The steel exterior seems private and fully immersed in the wild nature, whilst the inner part of the building is the opposite – open and fragile due to the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Blooming walls

The layout is designed as a free-flowing space with transforming functional zones. An owner can move the walls and convert the space into one social ground floor for parties.

Water

In a house in the mountains, water has become as important material as concrete, glass and steel. Floor-to-ceiling windows ensure that nature and the interior interact.

ROSE HOUSE

In a house in the mountains, water has become as important material as concrete, glass and steel. Floor-to-ceiling windows ensure that nature and the interior interact. The change of seasons is seen as part of the Rose. Just like the life cycles of a flower, nature blooms and fades in the house.
